In Review - November

Would you look at this! I got an In Review done before the new month was half way over!

November was a great month for Tyler Smiley Photography, as it marked the start of an exciting new era in my photography journey - I officially went full-time into photography and content creation on Monday, November 14th! So far building a true photograpy business hasn’t been easy, but that challenge is just another aspect of it all that excited me. Plus, if it were easy, everyone would be doing it.

While you will still see me working extensively to build a portfolio of landscape and wildlife work, I will also be doing real estate photography moving forward. Having come from a job in that industry, it is a natural fit for me.

Aside from taking photography full-time in November, I also made my first trip to Assateage Island as a photographer with my friend Kevin Lynam. It is such a gorgeous place, and I would highly encourage everyone to check it out sometime! Despite being known for its wild ponies, there is so much more Assateague Island can offer in terms of experiences (while not open, I saw a place you can rent kayaks and paddleboards), and scenery. I’m looking forward to planning some more trips down there in the near future - yesterday I got my annual pass and permit to drive on the beach in the OSV area!!

Last month also saw the launch of my YouTube channel! Currently there are three videos on there of some beachscapes just to sit back and listen to the waves, but I plan on adding some more content to it in the near future as well. I’m sorting out some ideas I have for the channel, and once I have that sorted out I will be starting to record like crazy!

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, you’ll be seeing some more content coming out on YouTube like I touched on. There will be a couple more blog posts as well - similar to the YouTube videos, I’m settling on what I want them to be about. I’m also contemplating a last second sale on my 2023 calendars - there are still some available, and I’d love to see them sold out for Christmas!

To say there will be a lot going on in the next couple weeks would be an understatement, but I’m really looking forward to it all!

Thanks for taking the time to read up on November’s excitement, and see you all out there!
