In Review - August 2023
Yikes! September is already halfway over! I’m blown away by how fast another month has passed us by.
It wasn’t my intent to let the next edition of In Review be put off this long, but better late than never, right? Things have been heating up again on the real estate side of the business, so I’ve been hard pressed to find the time to sit down and write this out. In fact, I’m actually putting off some editing to make sure this doesn’t get delayed any longer!
August’s photo of the month is undoubtedly the one above of the boats in the lineup for the last day of fishing in the 50th White Marlin Open out of Ocean City. I took this before I headed to Assateague one morning, hoping to get some top-down photos of the boats still at the docks and lit up - an angle I’ve never seen of the boats at Sunset Marine before. Sadly I got there too late, and all the boats had left the docks, but I quickly noticed they hadn’t gotten out of the inlet yet, so I pivoted my plan!
This shot epitomizes what photography can be at times. You go to a location with a plan to get a certain shot, but you get there too late or the conditions aren’t right, or something else happens that prevents you from getting it. BUT, another opportunity for a great photo presents itself, and you just have to jump on it. That is precisely what happened with this photo, and something I tell myself on a regular basis.
As we move ahead, I’ve got some exciting things I’ll be sharing with everyone about some services and future adventures over the rest of the year. If you sign up for my email newsletter, you will get to hear some of the news before everyone else (and I promise not to spam your inbox with daily or weekly emails - it’s a once or twice a month thing with some advance news and occasionally exclusive content). You can sign up for that using the form on this page.
If you’ve spent some time on the website at all in recent days, you may have also noticed I’m working on rearranging some things and making some updates. It’s a slow process, so please bare with me through them and hopefully they’ll be done in the next week or so.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out this new post, and here’s to the adventures ahead!
