The Wild Horses of Assateague Island

About an hour south of my home in Rehoboth Beach is the Assateague Island National Park in Maryland.

While Chincoteague is probably more famous than Assateague, this barrier island that stretches from Ocean City down the coast into Virginia is also known for its bands of wild horses. This gallery is dedicated to those amazing animals, in the hope that we can keep them wild well into the future.
