The Guy Behind the Lens

Mad Cheesin'.jpg

Hello and happy Friday everyone!

We are getting closer and closer to summer, and I am super excited - warm, humid days are my favorites. I could totally do without the winter months. Anyway, I figured for today’s blog post I would switch it up a little and instead of sharing something about photography, travel, etc., we will be going behind the lens of Tyler Smiley Photography.

The about page I have, Meet Tyler, is one of the best places you can learn about me. It is a pretty complete list, but that said, there is still a lot of information I left off that page that makes me me!

For example, if you’ve been following along with my photography for a while, it is probably really clear how much I love the beach. In fact, I love it so much that I try to get there and walk every morning (though I am guilty of missing some). That said, did you know I am not originally from Delaware?

You heard that right - I am not originally from Delaware! I was born and raised in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, which is about 45 minutes Northwest of Philadelphia (I always describe it as being Philadelphia -> Valley Forge -> Phoenixville). From what my parents have told me, the first trip I made to Delaware came when I was about two months old - and I’ve been coming back ever since! When I graduated from school, I wanted nothing more than to live here full time, so while it took some time, I eventually made it work, so here I am.

When I’m not working on photography, you can probably find me doing one of the following things:

- Working on a business idea (because I am a huge fan of Shark Tank)

- Playing with my dog, Piper

- Grinding at my full-time job with Coldwell Banker Resort Realty

- Or doing something to just relax and take my mind off everything, like playing Nintendo Switch games or paddleboarding on the Delaware Bay

Recently, I have also started to take up an interest in traveling more. Just a few months ago, I took a quick getaway to Florida for a few days, but I really can’t wait to start going away for longer periods of time. At the top of my list for places to visit right now are Hawaii, Arizona, and the Caribbean, though my bucket list includes places like Japan, Africa, Argentina, and more.

Alright, so that is enough about me for one day. I’d love to do some more posts like this in the future, but rather than make it all about me, I want to share things YOU want to know about me. With that - what would you like me to share next time? Is there anything you’d like to know? Let me know down in the comments, and I will use that as a running list of topics for future behind the lens posts!

Thanks for checking in, and I will see you all out there!

PS - If you want to purchase prints of any photos you see in any of the blog posts or on my social media pages, head over to the Print Shop to see if it is currently available or place a special order on this form! Your support is hugely appreciated!
