My Favorite January Shoot
Welcome to February! 2025 has gotten off to a fast start, and I can’t believe the number of homes I have been fortunate to photograph so far this year. Of those homes, one has definitely stuck out amongst the crowd as my favorite, so let’s take some time to talk about it!
Introducing 108 Philadelphia Street
108 Philadelphia Street is a vacation rental listed with the team at Jack Lingo. It features a front and back house with a combined seven bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.
Upon entering, I could instantly tell it was recently updated as everything felt fresh and new in both houses. The owners clearly put a lot of time, money, and thought into the finishes they selected to help make sure their guests enjoy their stays here.
At the time of writing this post, I still have to get back to do some exterior photos (the snow melt hasn’t been cooperative to get those done…), but despite that it was a real pleasure to capture this home. Stay tuned until the end where you’ll get to see some of the photos from the shoot as well!
The Front House
First, I photogrpahed the front house which has three bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms. The first floor flows from end to end with a really nice layout - from front to back, you go from a screen porch into the living room, then the dining room (off of which is the half bath), and then the kitchen where you can also find the washer and dryer.
Upstairs are the three bedrooms and the full bathroom, which had a very nicely finished jetted tub.
Overall, this space had a very nice coastal farmhouse sort of vibe to it. It was very clean and bright, and decorated very nicely as well. Personally, I REALLY liked the hardwood floors in this house - they were a light, natural finish that added just enough warmth to the space to make it feel cozy and welcoming.
The Back House
Once I wrapped up in the front house, I made my way over to the back house. This unit features four bedrooms and two bathrooms, also with two stories.
You enter into the living room, off of which is the first-floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Behind the living room is a small space with a fire place, then the kitchen and dining areas are in the back. Upstairs are the other three bedrooms and the second bathroom, with a hallway that was setup to act as a family room or reading space, and also had a fireplace like the downstairs.
While the front house had a coastal farmhouse feel to it, this back house was more modern in my opinion, but it suited the space very well with how it was laid out.
Here in the back house, I really liked finding the little nooks and crannies you could snuggle into and enjoy - maybe this was just because of the time of year I did the shoot, but doing detail shots to specifically capture them made this space even more fun to photograph than the front house. These little spaces were prevalent around the two fireplaces - the first floor had a chair right by the fireplace, while upstairs you could choose either a chair next to the fireplace or a couch tucked into the corner close by.
